About Live Music LA

"Live Music LA", formerly known as "Heart Beats, LA Music Live", began in mid 2009 as a way for amazing bands and acoustic performers to have a platform to play in Hollywood without enduring the sleazy promoter scene. Determined to stay away from pay-to-play and other less than reputable Hollywood practices, we ventured forward to secure a space. After many meetings Heart Beats worked in conjunction with The House of Blues on the Sunset Strip to take what used to be the bar at their Porch Restaurant and transform it into their "Voodoo Lounge". This was a change for The House of Blues. It was more intimate than their massive 1,200 people music hall and less pretentious than their formal "members only" Foundation and Parish Room. The Voodoo Lounge now serves as the premier venue for Live Music LA.

This was not enough. We were determined to not only create for Hollywood, but found it necessary to make a difference in the world. By offering a portion of every ticket sold to Generosity Water we were able to raise enough money to build a well
in Ghana within months. We have also dedicated funds and resources to LA Food Bank and Stand with
Haiti/Partners In Health.
